I do believe that people are going to have different opinions
about legalizing marijuana. I have never smoked marijuana or used any other
drugs. I do know people that do smoke marijuana and although I don’t see any
physical impairment I know that it has to do something to your body on the
inside and your mind. I believe that
legalizing marijuana for medical use can be good for cancer patients. When my
brother-in-law’s mother was suffering from stage four lung cancer she did not
have an appetite so the doctor prescribed her marijuana so that she would eat
something. I think that it should only
be available to the cancer patients that really need it. As far as just
legalizing marijuana for everyone I do not think it should legal. I know most
people are going to disagree with me but I think people that smoke marijuana
are going to show signs mentally. One reason I do not think that it should be
legal is because I do not think that anyone should be able to do it in front of
children or even in the same area as children. I think second hand smoke would
apply to marijuana just like it does to cigarettes. I do think that if we
legalized marijuana then it would release a lot of people from jails and
prisons. I also think that it would cut done on the crime rates. I think that
we should have some better resources to teach more people to say NO to drugs.
